To commemorate Black History Month, we’re planning a presentation by the local chapter of the “Buffalo Soldiers”. This will be an opportunity to learn a bit of the history of this elite group. The date has been set for Thursday, February 25th. |

Saturday, April 17, 2010 6 PM - 9 PM This year it will be an evening affair on April 17th and entitled “An Evening of Moonlight and Roses”. Featured will be some of the outstanding homes in the College-Temple Historic District. In conjunction with the Tour, all day on Saturday, April 17th there will be an exhibit at the History Center of very early 20th century automobiles. More details to follow |

Grand Opening Reception for our May exhibit "Portraits in Gray, a Civil War Photography Exhibit" Saturday, May 1, 2010 7 PM - 9 PM On Saturday, May 1st, a reception at the History Center for our members and guests will mark the opening of a month-long exhibit entitled “Portraits in Gray, a Civil War Pho-tography Exhibit”. The exhibit is on loan from The Southern Museum, in association with the Smithsonian Institution. The exhibit tells the human stories of the Civil War soldier through photographic techniques of the day. More details to follow |
